This was a wonderful night of playing music and was easily our best gig yet. Good to see our friends that came out to support us, especially Tim McDonnell visiting from Nashville. The energy was great tonight, especially considering that Orrick had a dodgy visit to the doctor’s office. Thank goodness that he was given a clean bill of health. Looking forward to our next show and working up some more material…

All right, are we Got It Covered or ADD/C? Our poster says we’re Got It Covered but ADD/C is written on the chalkboard at Eleven and several members of the audience insist that our name is ADD/C. Unfortunately Kevin found another ADD/C on the internet (this group is a AC/DC tribute band unlike our group which is ALL OVER THE PLACE, hence the ADD reference) and after speaking with Davey Quinn tonight he tells me there is also a punk band named ADD/C as well. No wonder we liked the name so much, apparently it is popular! Not so sure about GIC though. Time will tell on that one. Sal is once again installed as our sound man this evening and in full contrast to our gig two weeks previously the sound on stage is much clearer and less sonically painful than it was on the 5th. Tonight I remembered the old trick that it helps to get a bit of your instrument into your wedge as much as your vocal. Our turn out tonight was modest but those in attendance were PASSIONATE in their response with the aforementioned Davey dancing on top of the picnic tables during The Breakup Song, Head First and Surrender with a couple of cute gals off to the side spinning around to I Melt With You. We even got asked for an encore so we played Rock And Roll All Nite (again). Spirits were good and the band keeps chugging along. We will be at the Kraken in Cardiff on July 26th and we’ll back at Eleven on August 2nd. “You’ve been a dynamite audience and you deserve to give yourselves a round of applause let’s go!”
ADD/C is Kevin Donaker-Ring [lead guitar, vocals], Jon Kanis [bass, vocals], Victor Penalosa [drums, vocals], Orrick Smith [guitar, keyboards, vocals].

This is the official “debut” of ADD/C as a full-fledged bar-band. I always wondered what it was like to play three sets in a row with a smokin’ band. Now I wonder no more. This was a tremendously fun night and it is hard to believe that this band just formed nine weeks ago (May 3rd was our first rehearsal). Thanks to everybody who came out to cheer us on. Can’t wait till our next gig (this Tuesday at House Of Blues)…see you on July 19th for our next Eleven excursion.
