This is the first gig of a brand new American tour and this band is red hot…they were firing on all cylinders and much as I hate to say it but this re-vamped version of the Dolls is better than the original. Guitarist Steve Conte has the sneer, pout and moves of Johnny Thunders down pat but plays like Johnny went away and actually practiced his guitar for the last two decades.  Amazing.  David Johansen was in fine voice, smiling at and with the audience all night.  Syl Sylvain worked it like an old pro.  The rhythm section of Sami Yaffa & Brian Delaney kicked ass.  Who Are The Mystery Girls and Exorcism were on the set list but they opted not to play them.  The Cliks turned in a fine nine song set that included: Cry Me A River, Complicated, Eyes In The Back Of My Head, Soul Back Driver, Whenever, Oh Yeah, Love Gun.  Drummer Morgan Doctor appeared absolutely possessed; Bassist Jen Benton is pretty, awesome.
