It was Sunday, November 30th in 1975 when I saw the Washington Redskins defeat the Minnesota Vikings 31-30. Game time was 4 pm at RFK Stadium. Billy Kilmer & Fran Tarkenton. George Allen & Bud Grant. It was quite a thrill in those days to see a professional sporting event in person, as opposed to watching it at home on television. As a red-blooded, American boy of eleven years of age, I was a dyed-in-the-wool sports nut. The Redskins, the Orioles and the Bullets meant the world to me, at least until I turned 18.
